Emerging from the alternative rock and post-hardcore wave of the early 90s in Washington, D.C., Sorry About Your Daughter gained their reputation through tireless touring, insistent songwriting and their roots in the independent scene. Their debut album "Aquarium Center" (1994) was initially released independently before being reissued in Germany by Edel/Marlboro Music. The follow-up "Face" (1996) brought international attention on MTV Europe and MuchMusic. Both albums contain fan favorites such as "You Gave Up" and "Scapegoat". SAYD made a name for themselves through college gigs, club tours in Europe and underground gigs in North America. Their energetic shows established them as a defining band on the scene in the mid-90s. After splitting up in 1997, they returned in 2019 for a sold-out concert at The Soundry in Columbia, Maryland. With renewed energy, they are currently writing new material and will go on tour in summer 2026.
