We are very excited about the new club on Königsstrasse. Lerche? Wasn't there something? Not Singvogeln, but the legendary, huge record store (there were still branches) in Stuttgart's Königsstrasse. That's where Dj King Dynamite, who now lives in Berlin X-Berg, found his first vinyl records. That was back in the late 80s and
rare funky soul 45s, boogaloo Lps or African funk records were of course not to be found there. But now the new Lerche is getting down to business! Funky soul, boogaloo and rare grooves. Dancing is

History:
The Soul Explosion was founded in Berlin 25 years ago. In February 2006, the first Soul Explosion took place in the then still existing Rocker 33 in Stuttgart. Since then, the Soul Explosion has been an integral part of Stuttgart's nightlife. In 2010, the party by and around Berlin DJ King Dynamite then moved to the Bix Jazzclub. With great success: young people in particular celebrate the songs that DJ King Dynamite puts on the turntable like crazy.
The music: Soul music developed in the USA in the 60s. In the late sixties, from 1966 onwards, musicians such as James Brown began to weave breakbeats into soul music and thus the funky sound was born. The dance that goes with it is called locking and popping and is still danced today by some super dancers from the hip hop scene.
Not only the stars of the scene, but above all the multitude of lesser-known bands that existed all over the USA provided plenty of songs, including "funky soul" or "deep funk" pieces that were hard and uncomfortable, the antithesis to the soft Motown sound, so to speak. Here King Dynamite collects original vinyl singles, most of which are very rare and hard to come by. Latin funk or boogaloo also developed into music that is still relevant in clubs today, especially in New York. Lately, King Dynamite has also dedicated himself to digging for records in Africa, especially in Nigeria, Benin and Ghana, where there was a very rich, diverse music scene that was also suitable for the Soul Explosion.
Dj King Dynamite, who also lived in Stuttgart for some time, has lived in Berlin Kreuzberg since 1996.
