Former US GIs return to the Neckar for an extraordinary concert

Heidelberg. - Half a dozen former US soldiers who were once stationed in the region as musicians in the renowned US Army Band are returning to Heidelberg for a special musical reunion. The concert is being organized by the Altstadtverein Heidelberg.

On Sunday, November 30, at 5 p.m., the former military musicians will join forces with the Studierendenchor Heidelberg e.V., the chamber choir of the student choir and the band T.S.O.S. - The Shades of Soul at the Alter Karlstorbahnhof to present a concert that has never been seen before in the city.

Under the title "Soulful Christmas", the audience can expect a two-hour program that impressively combines soul, gospel and American Christmas traditions. On offer will be:

✷ energetic choral highlights

A special musical element of the evening is the chamber choir of the Studierendenchor Heidelberg e.V., which will perform under the direction of María Rodriguez Luengo. The ensemble consists of 3 to 5 singers per voice and has an independent, transparent ensemble sound. The chamber choir not only adds fine vocal accents to the program, but also contributes its versatile repertoire - with a focus on jazz and pop in the style of The Real Group or Rajaton, complemented by contemporary vocal music and selected works of early music.

The musical encounter between the former US military musicians and the young Heidelberg choir and band scene promises a concert full of emotion, energy and solidarity - a unique experience that captures the spirit of the Advent season in a special way and builds musical bridges between yesterday and today.
