Duo Murat Coşkun & Beatriz Picas

Murat Coşkun and Beatriz Picas are united by their great passion for the music that emerges between worlds and styles. After a successful CD release tour in Turkey and numerous concerts in Germany and Portugal, the two have grown together to form a captivating duo: Picas, whose voice is immediately moving with its individual timbre, goes her own way in the combination of cello and vocals. As a master of his trade, Coşkun masters his large percussion instruments with such virtuosity that he can seemingly blindly and intuitively immerse himself in the music they play together.

The initially surprising-sounding combination of world percussion, cello and voices becomes a novel but convincing sound experience: singing with the cello, playing with the voice, making the percussion cry and laugh.

The live performance comes alive through the intensive and spontaneous exchange in the moment and the discovery of new sound and playing spaces. Here, rhythmic precision effortlessly and virtuosically meets imaginatively realized phrases and spontaneously recorded impulses. Their Portuguese and Turkish roots can be sensed as the sounding board of their joint compositions - and so you can feel the melancholy from the sea or the exuberance from the mountains, spiced with the pain of the soul.
