Spatial Audio Listening Session (SALS)

In the organizer's words:

The ligeti center, the Association of German Sound Engineers (VDT) and the Student Section Hamburg of the Audio Engineering Section (AES) invite you to the Spatial Audio Listening Session (SALS) in the Production Lab of the ligeti center.

In this two-hour format, multi-channel audio productions of various formats and genres will be presented, curated and moderated. Over a cold drink, the audience is invited to discuss what they have heard between the pieces. After the program, there will still be the opportunity for an open exchange with pleasant background music.

This time we will be focusing on scene- and object-based audio productions in order to make full use of the system in the ligeti zentrum. Without going into too much technical detail: With this format, the individual elements of the production can be freely arranged in the room, allowing the fine details of the recording to be heard.

We will be able to talk about the formats and delve deeper into the subject matter - no prior knowledge required.
