Mila Zhluktenko and Daniel Asadi Faezi studied documentary film directing at the University of Television and Film Munich. The artist/director duo live and work in Munich. They have already realized numerous film projects as self-directors and co-directors. Since 2022, they have made three short films and one installation work together. They are also in production on their cinema debut.

Waves rolling back into the lake. Cuts from film to photography. Such image arrangements play with the optics of the past and the mobility of time. Forwards and backwards, standstill and movement are not only decisive opposites for cinematic storytelling, but also for historiography with its political charge. In the works of Daniel Asadi Faezi and Mila Zhluktenko, these levels of meaning are brought together to capture and depict the movements of the past.
