After its publication in 1891, Frank Wedekind's play caused an uproar among the general public because it explicitly addressed topics such as the sexuality of young people and the social intolerance of adults and criticized bourgeois morality. The authors of the musical found a suitable musical language to transfer the motifs and themes of the original work to the present day.

For all fans of rock music of the 2000s, this rousing musical is an absolute must-see and must-hear. In this first co-production, the opera division of Theater Bonn and Junges Theater Bonn are creating true synergies: under the musical direction of Ekaterina Klewitz and directed by Bernard Niemeyer, members of the youth choir and the acting ensemble of Junges Theater, accompanied and supported by a live band, will combine their different skills and experiences to create a moving dramatic-musical evening.
