Stätten des Ramayana (Teil 4): Nordindien – Chitrakut

The slide show series "Sites of the Ramayana" presents selected places in South Asia that are associated with sites mentioned in the ancient Indian epic "Ramayana" and which have a rich cultural tradition due to their mythological connection. The slide show takes us to Chitrakut in northern India, where Prince Rama spent the early part of his fourteen-year exile together with his wife Sita and his brother Lakshman. Now a popular and bustling pilgrimage center, Chitrakut is home to a variety of religious sites and shrines which, combined with the enchanting surroundings, transform the place into a center of living mythology.
