What originally began as a spontaneous invitation from Canadian drumming legend Terry Clarke to play a few concerts with vibraphonist Stefan Bauer quickly developed into a permanent ensemble. At the end of 2023, MOSAIC played several acclaimed concerts in Germany. The basis for a live CD on CORNERSTONE Records (Toronto), recorded in Warendorf and Dortmund. The release was celebrated in October 2024 with further concerts in Canada.

In addition to Bauer and Clarke, Matthew Halpin (saxophone, Ireland/Vienna) and John Goldsby (bass, WDR Big Band) complete the quartet. Four musicians from different generations and regions who create a musical unity through intensive communication and a rousing joy of playing.

The name MOSAIC stands for the Canadian ideal of cultural diversity. Each voice contributes its own timbre, and together they create a lively whole.
