Musical reading with Stefan Hunstein & Bernd Lhotzky

The art of mischief is celebrated here in a subtle and enigmatic way.
A pleasurable game with the crack, the crack in the bowl, the nucleus of wit. Natural craziness as an alternative to artificial intelligence.
Stefan Hunstein reads texts by Paul Maar, Wilhelm Killmayer, Paul Watzlawick, Mark Twain, Ernst Jandl and several other masters of subtle humor.
Bernd Lhotzky accompanies him on the grand piano, commenting on and adding to the texts with verve. The result is a musical-literary patchwork, asymmetrical, cheeky and full of surprises.

The actor, director and photographer Stefan Hunstein has worked continuously since the early 1980s at the most renowned German-speaking theaters, including the Bayerisches Staatstheater Munich, the Münchner Kammerspiele, the Burgtheater Vienna, the Deutsches Theater Berlin and the Schauspielhaus Zürich, as well as at the Salzburg Festival and the Ruhrtriennale. Stefan Hunstein is also Director of the Performing Arts Department at the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts.

Deeply rooted in early jazz history as well as in classical music, the jazz pianist and composer Bernd Lhotzky has opened up more and more in the course of his musical development. His current projects could hardly be more different: Rag Bag: a modern collage around the theme of ragtime, Shakespeare Sonnets: combining folk music, art song, pop music, jazz and chanson, Krabat by Otfried Preußler: acoustic illustration...
