For two decades, the Oxymoron Dance Company has stood for change, creativity and artistic diversity under the artistic direction of Anja Kozik. In ever-changing constellations, dancers and creative minds have filled spaces with life - with visions, bodies, sounds and stories. For our 20th anniversary, we are not only celebrating the past, but also the future: all those encounters, impulses and moments that keep us moving.
From the very beginning, Kozik was attracted by the deliberate break in style: people of very different origins, aesthetics and orientations came together in their work - and it was precisely from these contrasts that the company's unmistakable trademark developed.
Movement is created in the field of tension between opposites: between form and dissolution, idea and body, yesterday and today. What remains is openness, experimentation and dialog.
This attitude is reflected in more than twenty productions in a variety of ways: as a search for identity, as a reaction to social upheaval, as personal and collective movement through time. Our pieces tell contemporary history - on a small and large scale, in the body, in space, in the moment. This has resulted in works that defy unambiguity and unfold their power precisely in this way: 20 years of research in the in-between.
Our anniversary production " Still More" is a tribute to this history - to creators, dancers, companions, loyal viewers and supporters. "Still More" stands for what remains and for what is to come: for growing on from what was, for insisting on artistic expression in a time that is increasingly calling it into question. Music, drama, dance and video merge into a lively dialog in which each discipline challenges and enriches the others.
"Still More" is not only a look back at 20 years of courageous experiments, but also a look forward - a promise that art will always continue, especially in the field of tension between opposites.
