For more than a decade, Sullivan Fortner has proven his talent as a pianist, composer, bandleader and uncompromising individualist in various constellations and projects. The Grammy winner and recipient of the Larry J. Bell Jazz Artist Award 2026 has made a name for himself internationally as a bandleader and committed collaborator. He has worked with Wynton Marsalis, Paul Simon, Diane Reeves, Etienne Charles and John Scofield, among others. His frequent and long-standing collaborators include Ambrose Akinmusire, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Gary Bartz and Fred Hersch. With his trio, Fortner won the DownBeat Critics Poll 2024 in the category "Rising Star Jazz Group" and the Grammy 2026 in the category Best Jazz Instrumental Album.
