Suspens!on

In the organizer's words:

Butoh. Bondage. Birth /// Performance, ritual and party /// Interactive and immersive

With "SUSPENS!ON", the Hamburg-based ensemble XelK transforms Euripides' ancient tragedy "The Bacchae" into an interactive, queer performance ritual in the middle of a club. Eight performers invite the audience to dance in a Dionysian alternative world to experience Euripides in a completely different way: As a wild frenzy full of dance and incantation.

In five chapters, based on the symbolism of the Tarot, the audience experiences how the women of Thebes free themselves and learn to fly (again): from the collapse of the old establishment to the ecstatic appearance of Dionysus and the metaphysical birth of a new universe. Each chapter invites you deeper into the round dance of interaction and immersion and allows the audience to go as far as they want that evening.

After "Tranceformation (Kinky Kafka)", XelK once again invites you to an evening between theater, ritual and party: "SUSPENS!ON" is an interactive and immersive ritual between performance, intoxication and FemDom. And it continues straight afterwards: the show flows seamlessly into an enchanted, colorful, loving party that offers a mindful place for encounters, play, dance and music.

This is the night of the witches. Come dance - learn to fly.

The performance is suitable for audiences aged 18 and over. If this is your first time at an XelK theater party, please follow the instructions at www.xelk.de. Sensory information and triggers are also kept up to date there.
