Swing Manouche: Joscho Stephan Trio

Joscho Stephan shapes modern gypsy swing like no other. With his unmistakable sound, harmonic finesse, rhythmic flair and breathtaking solo technique, he has been thrilling international audiences for years. Stephan is a master at combining Django Reinhardt classics with influences from Latin, classical and rock - a mixture that makes him a creative visionary. His debut album Swinging Strings was named "CD of the Month" by US magazine Guitar Player , and four of his albums were nominated for the German Record Critics' Award. Concert tours have taken him to New York's Birdland, Lincoln Center and Australia with Tommy Emmanuel. In Starnberg, he will be performing in a trio with Raffael Müller (rhythm guitar) and Julia Hornung (double bass).

The "Swing Manouche" series is curated by Julia Hornung , a renowned voice of European gypsy swing, who invites top international musicians to Starnberg with a keen sense of style.

Prior to the concerts, dance workshopsin swing and balboa will be held in cooperation with the Vintage Club Munich. Here, dance enthusiasts can learn the typical steps and apply what they have learned directly in the second half of the evening - because dancing is of course allowed there.
