Swing Manouche: Mulo Francel & Giovanni Weiss Quartet

An evening full of musical lightness, energy and passion: when the celebrated saxophonist Mulo Francel(Quadro Nuevo) and the two-time ECHO Jazz award-winning guitarist Giovanni Weiss are on stage together, the result is a rousing mixture of Mediterranean elegance and fiery gypsy swing. Together with the renowned Munich double bassist Julia Hornung and the Italian guitarist Giangiacomo Rosso , they form a quartet that combines virtuoso improvisations, poetic soundscapes and surprising arrangements to create an intense musical experience.

The audience can expect an evening in which jazz, manouche and world music are combined in a charming way - sometimes with chamber music finesse, sometimes with rousing temperament. A concert that will delight both connoisseurs and curious newcomers and leave them wanting more.

The "Swing Manouche" series is curated by Julia Hornung , a renowned voice of European gypsy swing who invites top international musicians to Starnberg with a keen instinct.

A special feature of the series: free dance workshops in Balboa and Swing take place before each concert. Here, dance enthusiasts can learn the typical steps and apply what they have learned directly in the second half of the evening - because dancing is of course allowed there. The workshops are offered in cooperation with the Vintage Club Munich.
