With the new construction of Schwerin Palace in the mid-19th century, Grand Duke Friedrich Franz II created a new, contemporary seat of power that still characterizes Schwerin's cityscape today. Public tours at 11 am, 12 pm, 1:30 pm and 3 pm explain how the building expresses the claim to power of the Mecklenburg ruling dynasty.
