To mark the nationwide Open Monument Day on September 14, 2025, the Alter Schlachthof memorial site and the university library are offering guided tours on the history of the Jews deported from the Düsseldorf slaughterhouse during the Nazi regime as well as architectural tours.

We are also pleased to be able to show the photography exhibition "Pack your things!" in the basement of the building, which focuses on stories of flight by Ukrainian women since 2014. At 5 pm, Xenia Gromak and Olha Novykova will give a bilingual (German/Ukrainian) curator's tour with insights into the creation and context of the exhibition.
