Tamo-Flage - From battlerap through depression to a new beginning

If you were into battlerap in the early YouTube days, you couldn't get past Tamo-Flage. Click figures in the seven-figure range, celebrated appearances at VBT, sharply honed lines - for many, he had long been one of the big names, while he remained an insider tip for the masses. He also knew how to impress live early on - whether solo or together with his crew Stoney Styles, who still accompany him today.

Music was the center of his life. But then came the break: over ten years ago, he was diagnosed with depression and an anxiety and panic disorder. His creativity dried up, the stages went quiet - the rapper fell silent. A long, intensive period of healing began and culminated in an album that holds nothing back.

Tamo-Flage is back with his new long-player Hybris - and how. 14 songs in which he reveals his innermost self, tells of setbacks, questions himself and finally puts himself back together again. The result is his most honest work to date: emotional, courageous, deep.

The entire album was produced by Graustein, whose modern, powerful sound has musically taken Tamo-Flage out of his comfort zone - and inspired him anew.
The music has changed, the voice has matured - but the ambition to say something has remained.

And: old fans are also catered for. Because on Hybris there are not only thoughtful tones - some songs make battlerap hearts beat faster and are reminiscent of the raw energy of the early Tamo Flage era.

At the same time, Tamo-Flage is also rebuilding his social media presence from the ground up - with the aim of creating a community that celebrates him not only for his past, but for who he is today.

After 18 years of rap experience, his second summer is about to begin. And this time, it's about more than just punchlines.

In the alleyways of a nameless city, just beyond the garbage heaps of Ihleneberg. Where lantern light glistens on cobblestones, people tell the story of Frank-Walter P., the rapper who draws his success from a "golden cup" - a mythical container for the inner spark that drives artists. Those who drink from it, it is said, become intoxicated with their own imagination: with sound colors, with words, with visions.
Frank-Walter P. has been carrying this cup with him since his first Cypher. With every sip from this source, his voice becomes rougher, his mind more alert, his art more courageous. From it emerge those tracks that wander between dusty old-school hip-hop and contemporary, pulsating influences - as if an old vinyl crackler were dancing with futuristic synth winds.
His beats seem like streets full of memories, his lyrics like nocturnal stories that take a new turn at every corner. And while the world listens, his international reputation grows: Frank-Walter P., the Strunk in your Bowl.

YEIMI:
Yeimi writes songs, produces beats, raps/sings/screams, swings on stage. Over 10 years on the road as MC & percussionist with Tunche Soundsystem, Yeimi is now exploring creative processes of self-knowledge with his own music. Emotive beats with lots of bass and meaningful samples print out raw sounds, memories of home, nostalgia, longing, hope and euphoria. All in all. Transitory paths that don't end or end after 2 minutes. Between Bogotá and Bremen, between migrating and staying, between gray and neo tones, between tenderness and aggressiveness, between genders, always deconstructing, always against the norm. Lyrics full of existential & socio-critical questions, anger and rage with a desire for revenge that always turns into joy and serenity. Yeimi's first project consists of 5 songs that represent a personal journey in search of authenticity in a society that obfuscates and instrumentalizes both personal and social struggles.
