Tango unites people through dance and music. For many years, it has told stories of love and suffering, but also of the immigration of European musicians to Argentina and of the fusion of different cultures.
The three musicians Aylén Bárbara Gerull, Lucio Ernesto Claros and Tomás Díaz embody this connection in their trio.
Lucio, born in Buenos Aires, is a virtuoso tango guitarist who has made a name for himself in the milongas and orchestras of the Argentinian capital. Aylén is an opera singer who travels between Hamburg and Seville, loves flamenco and is a passionate tango dancer. Tomás Díaz, also from Argentina, now lives in Berlin and is both an outstanding bandoneón player and composer - a musician who brings the tango into the present with virtuosity and creativity.
Together they demonstrate what happened when the tango was born: European and Latin American musical traditions are combined in song, guitar and bandoneón.
Aylén translates and explains the dramatic but also humorous lyrics of the tangos, gives insights into the lives of the composers and tells of the traditions of the dancers at the milongas of Buenos Aires.
A concert by three virtuosos awaits you - with captivating music, lively moderation and the message that intercultural encounters can produce wonderful things, such as the Argentine tango.
The concert will take place on 25.10.2025 in the Andreas-Wilms-Haus - hall behind the passageway. The DIAG team will provide drinks and snacks for the physical well-being of the guests.
