Leïla Ka, currently the most successful choreographer from France, has established herself in just a few years with her combative energy. Her dance is both powerfully theatrical and of terrifying precision and gets under your skin.

For the first time in Karlsruhe, TANZ Karlsruhe presents a retrospective of her internationally successful and award-winning pieces, the solo "PODE SER", the duo "YOU'RE THE ONE WE LOVE" and the group piece "BOUFFÉES".

Her success is reflected in her phenomenal, sold-out tours: she is currently the young choreographer who performs the most often, with over one hundred dates per year. - Le Monde

PODE SER (Solo)
Pode Ser speaks to us through the angry body of a dancer about everything we have been, the roles we have played, some of them assigned, and about what we could have been, perhaps. An impressive solo about the difficulties of being oneself, which gained international recognition within a few months.

YOU'RE THE ONE WE LOVE (Duo)
There are two of them, but there could be a hundred or a thousand of them. They set off together, shaky, sick or sometimes happy, and they try, perhaps for the best, but probably for the worst. You're the one we love is a cry of hope in which the body returns to what is closest to its heart, to that life impulse that keeps us going.

BOUFFÉES
Five women stand still and turn to the audience, wiping their tear-stained cheeks. What sorrow do they carry? Does it belong to them?
With Bouffées, Leïla Ka imagines how to heal the "incurable": to embrace grief in order to transform it into a medium of strength and rebirth?
Bouffées was created in 2022 for the Danse Élargie competition and is a compact 15-minute piece with a strong presence. At its debut, it was awarded first prize in the competition. Since then, it has been performed throughout France and has made a name for itself on international stages. In 2025, it was added to the repertoire of the Wiesbaden Ballet in Germany, carried by a new generation of artists. Bouffées has achieved viral success on social media, with excerpts viewed over 15 million times.
