DIY terrazzo workshop in Hamburg

Do you love design, colors and want to get creative? Then this handmade terrazzo workshop in Hamburg is just the thing for you! Here you can design your own beautiful terrazzo bowl in a relaxed atmosphere - without any previous knowledge. Whether alone, with friends or family - here you'll meet creative, open-minded people who want to create something of their own. And the workshop room in the enchanting "Café Rosa" in Hamburg Ottensen offers the perfect location for a colorful, creative time!

What can you expect?

In this handmade workshop, you will create your own terrazzo design step by step. You will mix the base color of your bowl as well as two individual terrazzo chip colors yourself. I will also bring additional chips and you can swap your colors with the other participants. This results in countless creative combinations!

Working together, exchanging chips and mixing colors is not only fun, but also creates a sociable and inspiring atmosphere. Being creative brings people together ;-)

After a short drying time of approx. 40 minutes, we wet sand the bowl so that the terrazzo structure is visible and comes into its own. We then seal it - and you have your own unique piece in your hands, ready to take home!

Additional information

The workshop takes place from 6 participants. Subject to changes and errors. If there are not enough participants, I reserve the right to postpone or cancel the course.

FAQ

What happens if I can't make the date? You can cancel your ticket free of charge up to 21 days before the workshop. After that, a refund is unfortunately no longer possible. If you would like to transfer the ticket to someone else, please contact me at moin@friedltz.de.

What are the dimensions of the bowl we are making? The outer diameter is approx. 11 cm. The height is approx. 1.8 cm.

Do I need any previous knowledge to take part in the workshop? No, you don't need any previous knowledge! The workshop is suitable for beginners and creative people of all experience levels. I will guide you through all the steps.

What clothes should I wear? Please wear comfortable clothes that can get dirty, as we will be working with paints and materials that can spill. Maybe also wear old clothes or an apron.

What happens if too few participants have registered or the organizer has to cancel due to illness? If the workshop has to be canceled due to an insufficient number of participants or illness of the organizer, I will inform you and refund your full participation fee.

What material do we work with? Jesmonite is an environmentally friendly, versatile material that is ideal for DIY projects. We use it to create sturdy but lightweight bowls with a terrazzo look.

What is terrazzo? Terrazzo is an art form that consists of small chips (e.g. marble, glass or other materials) that are poured into a base and then sanded and sealed. The result is a beautiful, unique pattern.

What colors can I choose? You can choose your own base color for the bowl and two terrazzo chip colors. You can also swap with other participants' chips to create your own color combination.

How long does the workshop last? The workshop lasts around 3.5 to 4 hours. This gives you enough time to work in peace and exchange ideas.

How long does it take until my bowl is finished? The bowl has to harden for about 40 minutes during the workshop before we can continue working on it. Afterwards, you can take it home with you.

What happens if I am late? Please be on time so that we can start together. If you are late, you may miss some steps.

Will I get all the materials I need for the workshop? Yes, all the materials and tools you need for the workshop are included in the ticket price. You don't need to bring anything extra.
