Julia Hühne-Simon, textile art

The phenomena of nature, its wealth of forms and the traces of life are the sources of inspiration for textile artist Julia Hühne-Simon. The exhibition Textile Transformations at Schloss Reinbek shows her textile and mixed-media-based pictures, objects and assemblages made of wool, silk and a variety of fabrics and fibers.

The works are characterized by experimental material combinations, haptic surfaces and the deliberate exploration of texture and depth. They tell of organic forms and structures that unfold, grow and transform. Some things are immediately apparent, others reveal themselves on closer inspection - a dialog between the concrete and the abstract, between natural form and artistic interpretation.

"With every fiber and every detail that I incorporate, new perspectives and creative spaces open up for me. Making the constant transformation of life and nature visible and tracing the big in the small - that is the fascination that drives me," says the artist about her work.

This results in multi-layered worlds of images and objects that invite discovery and at the same time raise questions: about the interconnectedness of all life and the responsibility of humans towards their natural environment.

The exhibition can be seen from 30.11.2025 to 18.1.2026 in the Krummspanner of the castle.
