Thaarattu - The Last Lullaby

In the organizer's words:

Thaarattu - The Last Lullaby tells the story of Kaikasi, the mother of Ravana from the Indian epic Ramayana. She belongs to the Rakshasa clan, lives as a refugee, and raises her son as a single mother. She rises from life in the forest to become the Queen Mother of Lanka. On the last days of the war between Rama and Ravana, Kaikasi knows that her son will not step back from the fight. She cannot change his decision, but she can remind him of the brave warrior he has always been. Deep inside, she understands that he may not survive the next day. Today, as in ancient times, mothers in war-torn places face the same fear. They wonder if their children will return home. They question their choices and ask whether ambition or fate shaped their lives. Thaarattu is not only a lullaby for Ravana - it is a lullaby for all children lost to war.
