The 5th Friday: Pfoertner & DIE EITELKEIT

Pfoertner was founded in Hamburg in March 2023 and provides a refreshing contrast to the established German indie sound. With provocative lyrics, musical sophistication and a lot of sweat and tears, Pfoertner discuss topics such as criticism of capitalism, escapism, identity crises and sex & love - raw, vulnerable and direct. Above all live, this means: less thinking, more feeling.

"Flowers on the way - mutilated with a saw" sing DIE EITELKEIT from Hamburg. Singer and songwriter Oscar - formerly Oscar and vanity - now a band! They are joined by old friends from the La Pochette Surprise cosmos: Martin on drums, Christian on bass, Obi on synth and Julian on lead guitar. The metaphor of mutilation is the literary and musical program. Collage technique reflects a chopped-up experience of reality. Country sadness: NoCountry! Musically based on Silver Jews, excursions into dreampop - sometimes they sound like Element of Crime.
