Immerse yourself in the world of cartoon drawing!

In this intensive two-day workshop, we combine theory, practice and craft to create a holistic learning experience. You will learn how cartoons are structured, which visual codes they use and how to create expressive characters with just a few, targeted strokes. You will learn what makes good characters, how humor works visually and how to tell stories in simple pictures.

Practical work and developing your own characters

Together we will take a close look at the visual language of cartooning. Step by step, you will learn how to exaggerate gestures, facial expressions and posture to make characters appear credible and lively. You will experiment with shapes, expression and dynamics and find out how emotions and character traits can be translated into drawings. The aim is to develop and refine your own characters, ideas and concepts - from the first sketch to the finished cartoon.

Focus on creativity and imagination

In addition to technique, the focus is on creative expression. You have the opportunity to experiment playfully, discover your own style and implement new ideas with humor and imagination. This will not only result in drawings, but also joy in the process and inspiration for further projects.

The workshop is aimed at anyone who enjoys drawing and would like to discover or deepen their knowledge of the world of cartooning. Whether you are just starting to put your first strokes on paper or already have experience in drawing comics and figures - here you will find inspiration, new techniques and individual feedback. Both beginners and advanced students benefit from the practical exercises, clear examples and creative atmosphere at the IBKK Design and Art Center. Together, ideas are created that inspire you to smile and continue drawing.

The instructor

American-born tattoo artist and comic artist Glenn Schon has long since fulfilled his dream of creating his own comic and launched "Dummy Rail". There he tells short anecdotes about his experiences in a fictitious tattoo studio. He leaves the graphics tablet behind - brush and ink are his utensils of choice, black and white the language of his pictures. Glenn is happy to pass on his experience, his knowledge and the techniques that need to be mastered in order to achieve great results.

Price information:

The cost of the two-day course is €175. The course runs from 1 to 7.30 p.m. on Saturdays and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
