Find Your Voice in Drag

with Lara Schmidt

Your own drag persona - the part that is waiting to conquer the world. But how does this personality not only get a face, but also an unmistakable voice? The interactive workshop with dubbing artist Lara Schmidt invites you to immerse yourself in the world of your own drag voice.
The workshop combines theory and practice: in the theoretical part, the basics of voice training are taught, breathing is optimized and various speaking styles are introduced.

The practical part is a space for experimenting with vocal facets, recording your own voice and discovering the right tones and accents for your persona. Individual feedback is provided.
The aim is to further develop your own voice and presence in drag with new knowledge, concrete exercises and a stronger sense of voice.

About the DRAGademy

Welcome to the DRAGademy - a joint initiative of PATHOS theater and Vicky Voyage that offers a ticket to the world of transformation, art and extravaganza. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced performer: The monthly workshop series guides you through the topics of make-up, wig styling, stage presence, costumes, lighting design, character work and much more. A performance is created from an idea - fierce, fabulous and authentic. After a master class, the final event is a showcase in which what has been learned is presented live on stage in front of an audience. Places are limited; participation in several workshops increases the chances of being on stage at the final event. The DRAGademy is open to all genders and levels of experience. Whether Queen, King, Thing or any other form - all colors of the rainbow are celebrated here!

About the workshop leader

Lara Schmidt is a German dubbing actress and voice over artist and has been in front of the microphone since 2014. Her voice can be heard in various series, film and video game productions such as One Piece, Along Came The Devil or Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth. Based in Munich, Lara works both in professional studios and flexibly from her home studio. She herself is active as a drag king "Radieschen" and occasionally tells bad jokes on stage.

For each workshop, 2 solidarity tickets are offered at half price - for the unemployed, refugees or people with severe disabilities (from 50%). If you would like to take advantage of one of these tickets, please contact vicky@dragvoyage.de. The rule here is: first come, first serve!

• Participants with only English language skills are also welcome.
• Photos and videos may be taken before, during and after the workshop and may be used for social media. If an image is not desired, please inform us in good time so that this can be taken into account in the recordings.
