Drag wig styling with Pinay Colada

Fancy a big, drag-tastic wig? In the wig styling workshop with pro MUA, drag queen and wig stylist Pinay Colada, you will be shown step by step how to turn a simple wig into a real drag showstopper. From curling to final styling - all under professional guidance. The difference between hair lacquer and hairspray is explained, as is the correct way to curl your hair with a curling brush and how to choose the best curlers. The differences between hard-front and lace-front wigs are also explained.

Creative work, practical techniques and lots of inside knowledge: Whether you have experience or not - this is where it gets hairy, creative and really fun!

About the DRAGademy

Welcome to the DRAGademy - a joint initiative of PATHOS theater and Vicky Voyage that offers a ticket to the world of transformation, art and extravaganza. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced performer: The monthly workshop series guides you through the topics of make-up, wig styling, stage presence, costumes, lighting design, character work and much more. A performance is created from an idea - fierce, fabulous and authentic. After a master class, the final event is a showcase in which what has been learned is presented live on stage in front of an audience. Places are limited; participation in several workshops increases the chances of being on stage at the final event. The DRAGademy is open to all genders and levels of experience. Whether Queen, King, Thing or any other form - all colors of the rainbow are celebrated here!

About the workshop management

Pinay Colada has been on stage as a drag queen since 2018. In 2019 she successfully completed her training as a make-up artist (MUA). She taught make-up & hairstyling for three years and has been self-employed in drag, make-up and wig styling since 2023. With over 30 workshops throughout Germany, she teaches in-depth knowledge and creative techniques in an understandable way. Pinay has done make-up for international campaigns for Mercedes and BMW, among others, and worked as a make-up artist for "Polizeiruf".

Under the name "The Wigdoctor", Jay brings used wigs back to life, restores them professionally and gives them a new shine. But artistic new wig creations with elaborate structures are also part of the repertoire - always tailored to the individual order.

He has already styled over 100 wigs for himself and other drag artists. Jay's great passion: sharing knowledge, teaching creative techniques and constantly learning new things himself.

Styling head (Styrofoam is ok, covered with cotton fabric is better)
Wig stand or holder (can be attached to the table)
30 flat rollers/flocked metal rollers (25-30 mm) e.g. Efalock brand
toupee brush
Brush (paddle brush)
Smoothing brush
Comb set (styling comb, curling comb, developing comb)
Pearl head pins (6 -8 cm)
Duckbill clips (metal or plastic)
Hair lacquer (got2be/Balea)
Hard front wig/lace front wig (preferably a 33x7-10cm lace front and no middle/side parting lace and please no human hair).

Ticket Standard - 79 €: Participant takes with him/her:
Styling head (styrofoam is ok, covered with cotton fabric is better)
Wig stand or holder (can be attached to the table)
Hard front wig/lace front wig (at the neck and best a 33x7-10 cm lace front and no middle/side parting lace) and please no human hair!

Ticket all-round carefree 99 €: Participant takes with him/her:

For each workshop, 2 solidarity tickets are offered at half price - for the unemployed, refugees or people with severe disabilities (from 50%). If you would like to take advantage of one of these tickets, please contact vicky@dragvoyage.de. The rule here is: first come, first serve!

Further information:

• The workshop uses products that can cause skin irritation. If you have very sensitive skin, you are advised to be careful or bring your own products.
• Some technical terms will be used in English, but will be explained if necessary.
• Participants with only English language skills are also welcome.
• Photos and videos may be taken before, during and after the workshop, which may be used for social media. If an image is not desired, please inform us in good time so that this can be taken into account in the recordings.
