Lighting dramaturgy, organizer communication and how to sell yourself well with Vicky Voyage

Light is more than just technology - it is part of the dramaturgy. The workshop teaches the basics of lighting moods, color effects and their emotional impact on the audience. Which colors create which atmosphere? Which light supports which mood? And what possibilities do different stages and locations offer? The focus is also on practical questions: What information does a venue need? How do you create a simple technical rider? And how does light influence the effect of a drag performance? Many performers underestimate the role of light or don't know the technical basics - this is where this know-how is taught in a practical way. The aim is to create drag acts more consciously and professionally, with technical understanding, clear communication and a feeling for the effect in the room.

About the DRAGademy

Welcome to the DRAGademy - a joint initiative of PATHOS theater and Vicky Voyage that offers a ticket to the world of transformation, art and extravaganza. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced performer: The monthly workshop series guides you through the topics of make-up, wig styling, stage presence, costumes, lighting design, character work and much more. A performance is created from an idea - fierce, fabulous and authentic. After a master class, the final event is a showcase in which what has been learned is presented live on stage in front of an audience. Places are limited; participation in several workshops increases the chances of being on stage at the final event. The DRAGademy is open to all genders and levels of experience. Whether Queen, King, Thing or any other form - all colors of the rainbow are celebrated here!

About the workshop leader

Vicky Voyage is a drag queen, presenter and producer of the acclaimed drag cabaret show "Drag Voyage", with which she tours throughout Germany in changing crews - from city halls to state theaters. Since her start at Munich CSD 2018, she has made a name for herself in the drag scene over the years. She affectionately describes her self-deprecating stage character as the "best cow in the drag stable".

For each workshop, 2 solidarity tickets are offered at half price - for the unemployed, refugees or people with severe disabilities (from 50%). If you would like to take advantage of one of these tickets, please contact vicky@dragvoyage.de. The rule here is: first come, first serve!
