Upcycling costumes with Alexander Cameltoe

Drag is all about bringing large silhouettes to the stage - but this is often difficult with conventional patterns. How do you get huge shoulder pads on a dress? How do you turn a Humana jacket into cyborg armor?

Two days with Dragking Alexander Cameltoe are all about adding volume to costumes and taking looks to the next level. The workshop is designed so that personal projects can be brought along and realized.

Day 1: Material science, design, building volume, incorporating reveals
Day 2: Fastenings, aesthetics, textures and finishes

Whether a performance idea is waiting to be realized or an almost finished look is missing the finishing touches - here there is room for individual creation and technical implementation.

About the DRAGademy

Welcome to the DRAGademy - a joint initiative of PATHOS theater and Vicky Voyage that offers a ticket to the world of transformation, art and extravaganza. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced performer: The monthly workshop series guides you through the topics of make-up, wig styling, stage presence, costumes, lighting design, character work and much more. A performance is created from an idea - fierce, fabulous and authentic. After a master class, the final event is a showcase in which what has been learned is presented live on stage in front of an audience. Places are limited; participation in several workshops increases the chances of being on stage at the final event. The DRAGademy is open to all genders and levels of experience. Whether Queen, King, Thing or any other form - all colors of the rainbow are celebrated here!

About the workshop leader

As one of Berlin's legendary drag kings and genderfuck performers, Alexander Cameltoe is dedicated to playing with different forms of masculinity and leaning into extremes across the gender spectrum. He exists on sliding scales between fuckboi and sweet himbo, nobility and scumbag, high art and cheap trash, humanoid robot and mushroom-like alien. Alexander was born in the legendary House of Presents in Berlin and has since made a name for himself in the Berlin drag scene. He is also active as a solo performer, presenter, event producer, theater maker and visual artist.

Duration: 8 hours incl. break
Tickets: 118 € | 148 € (package price for both days)

Self-catering ticket € 118:
Participant brings all materials themselves - more detailed packing list to follow: (base) outfit, materials for upcycling and all additional construction materials (EVA foam, foamclay, glue, sculpting tools, primer, hot glue etc.)

Ticket standard 148 €:
Participant brings (base) outfit and materials for upcycling if necessary; glue and construction materials such as EVA foam, foamclay, glue, sculpting tools, primer, hot glue etc. are provided.

Two half-price solidarity tickets are offered per workshop - for the unemployed, refugees or people with severe disabilities (from 50%). If you would like to take advantage of one of these tickets, please contact vicky@dragvoyage.de. The rule here is: first come, first serve!

• Some technical terms will be used in English, but will be explained if necessary.
• Participants with only English language skills are also welcome.
• Photos and videos may be taken before, during and after the workshop and may be used for social media. If an image is not desired, please inform us in good time so that this can be taken into account in the recordings.
