Hardly any other filmmaker has worked with so many legendary actors and actresses and at the same time produced masterpieces at such a high frequency as Martin Scorsese.

That's why we're taking the time this fall and winter to explore this man's deeply impressive filmography with you. From the boxing ring to the streets of New York, from eerie islands to the spheres of stockbrokers... he's taken us everywhere and shown us the dark side of the world. And was damn cool doing it.

Cab Driver

Vietnam veteran Travis Bickle works as a cab driver in New York. In his spare time, he visits porn cinemas and scares off his acquaintance Betsy.

Traumatized by the war, Travis becomes delusional about having to cleanse New York's streets of human scum.

When he fails to convert an underage prostitute, Travis acquires several pistols and begins to train for his campaign for law and order.
