The Mary Onettes (SE)

The Swedish dream-pop greats, who combine melancholic melodies, cinematic textures and heartfelt lyrics, were founded in Jönköping in 2000 and achieved international fame in 2007 with their self-titled debut album, which was highly praised by Pitchfork, Stereogum and The Guardian. In 2008, they even played at Primavera Sound in Barcelona. Known for their lush, nostalgic sound, they have released a series of acclaimed albums and singles, with their music featured in series such as Grey's Anatomy and most recently Netflix Japan's First Love (2022), leading to a worldwide rediscovery of their work. After a few quiet years and other projects such as "Det Vackra Livet", the band returned in 2023-24 with a series of new singles, followed by the release of the new album Sworn on November 13th.

SCHICK (HH)

SCHICK was founded in 2019 by Aron Pfeil, Markus Krauss and Joschka Brandenburg. The band's sound is reduced and transparent, but never loses its intensity. Driving, danceable disco beats merge with catchy melodies to create a sound that is both captivating and emotional. Schick creates a balance between melancholic depth and hopeful lightness, paired with a snotty attitude and intoxicating moments.
