When the first chords of "If You Wanna" played on British radio in spring 2011, it quickly became clear that this band was here to stay. The Vaccines - four young Londoners with a penchant for catchy choruses, surf riffs and youthful arrogance - filled a vacuum left by the indie rock of the noughties. Their debut album "What Did You Expect from The Vaccines?" shot straight to number four in the British charts, went platinum and is now regarded as one of the defining guitar albums of the decade.

Five albums, several line-up changes and countless tours later, the band led by singer Justin Young and bassist Ãrni Ãrnason are about to embark on a new chapter: to celebrate the 15th anniversary of their debut album, they will embark on a major UK tour in 2026. The album will be played in full, flanked by classics from the rest of the catalog. Demand was overwhelming and additional shows in London and Manchester had to be arranged at short notice. Naturally, the Brits also follow up the success with EU dates.

Their sixth studio album "Pick-Up Full of Pink Carnations" (2024) recently showed that The Vaccines are more than just a nostalgic throwback to the golden indie years. Created in Los Angeles, it sounds like the West Coast, like late youth and new beginnings at the same time - an album that doesn't deny its roots, but seems more mature, bigger and more reflective. Justin Young, now at home in the USA, sings about loss, about growing up in an industry that wants to stay forever young, and about searching for moments that last.

But it is only on stage that this music unfolds its full energy. The band's concerts today are little time machines: Anyone who has been there in Berlin, London or Melbourne in recent months has experienced how an audience collectively falls into ecstasy after the first bars of "Wreckin' Bar (Ra Ra Ra)" or "Post Break-Up Sex". The Vaccines prove that guitar music can still bring people together in 2024 - without retro pathos, but with honest devotion.

After a completely sold-out tour in 2024 and a celebrated summer of festivals, The Vaccines are finally returning to Germany in spring 2026 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of "What Did You Expect from The Vaccines?". This is not just nostalgia: this is a band that still knows how to make hearts beat faster.
