Theater Checker: Das kalte Herz // Fritz-Wortelmann-Preis 2025

PLAY WITH SHADOW AND MARIONETTE PLAY

On the occasion of a project week on Wilhelm Hauff's fairy tale "The Cold Heart", Charly gives a presentation in German class: "Today it's not Peter speaking - today I'm speaking." The fairy tale is retold - the village community becomes a school class in which Charly has never really arrived. The Dutchman Michel appears to her in a dream and shows her the way to strength: exchange your pain for coldness. Not even the glass man can do anything about it - he vegetates in a parking garage, once his beautiful "Tannenbühl". Only a new friend can help here. She bravely stands by Charly, ready to forgive even a bad mistake. In the end, everyone fulfills the glass man's wish together: get out of the stone parking garage!

The Theater Checker, a youth club from the Puppentheater Zwickau, with players aged between 11 and 16, are taking part in the Fritz Worttelmann Prize for the second time.
