Our theater group with people with and without disabilities is invited to a guest performance at the Burgtheater Vienna. We travel by bus. The excitement is great. The expectations are even greater. But not everything goes according to plan.
The bus breaks down and everyone has to get off. There is little time to rehearse and the break is used to learn the text. It's not an easy play that we want to perform in Vienna. It's about Aktion T4, the Nazi killing program for sick and disabled people.
There is resistance and unanswered questions among the actors. How deep do we have to delve into the horrific details? What do we need to know in order to learn from the past and look to the future with hope?
Our theater group does not remain trapped in the past. We dare to give answers that clear the way for a tomorrow of justice.
