THELONICA

Thelonica is an evening about the patron of the arts, Pannonica de Koenigswarter, née Rothschild, who became famous as the "Jazz Baroness", and her love and admiration for Thelonious Monk.

Through the congenial interplay of pianist Jonas Landerschier and saxophonist Lieven Brunckhorst, who interpret the compositions of Thelonious Monk, and the lyrics by Sebastian Schlösser, with whom Catrin Striebeck staggers through the night as a jazz baroness, the shimmering, creative atmosphere of the New York jazz club scene is brought back to life through the extraordinary biographies.

A tribute to music and love. In this spirit..., in the words of Thelonious' son Toot: "He was a hip jazzman and she was a hot chick."
