The textile artist Benita Koch-Otte attended a drawing seminar during her time in Düsseldorf. She graduated as a teacher and also taught needlework and gymnastics. After just five years, she decided to study weaving at the Bauhaus in Weimar. Later, she even took over the management of the weaving workshops at the Burg Giebichenstein School of Arts and Crafts.
