Todd Sharpville

Todd Sharpville has been a fixture on the British blues scene for 30 years. His first album Touch Of Your Love was released in 1992 on Red Lightnin Records and won "Best Album" and "Best Guitarist" at the British Blues Awards. This was the beginning of an international career that saw Todd Sharpville and his band perform at most blues venues and festivals around the globe.

Originally inspired to play the blues as a child by the music of Freddie King, Todd's burgeoning guitar style was eventually inspired by T Bone Walker, BB King, Buddy Guy, Hubert Sumlin, Lightnin Hopkins, Albert King, Otis Rush, Peter Green and Magic Sam among others. In his youth, he was mentored by Californian bluesman Joe Louis Walker, which changed his life forever.

His 2001 album Meaning Of Life Cathouse/Revolver Records CRCD0057 features guest appearances by Snowy White, Paul Lamb, Leo Sayer and former Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor (who toured Europe with Todd on the album). Todd's confessional divorce album Diary Of A Drowning Man features a duet with popular British singer/songwriter Sam Brown ("Sweet Redemption"). Between 2005 and 2007, Sharpville toured Europe as support act for Joe Cocker and Pink and played the last night of BB King's farewell tour at the D'coq Arena in Luxembourg. On his 2010 album "Porchlight" (Mig / SPV Records 20032), Kim Wilson (Fabulous Thunderbirds), Joe Louis Walker and the producer of Medication Time, Duke Robillard, appeared as guests. Todd can be found on more than 35 compilation albums and at least 5 Dana Gillespie releases.
Todd's most recent album "Medication Time" is available on Dixiefrog Records and led to his recent "Rockpalast" appearance on national television in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Croatia. It was released internationally in October 2023 by Repertoire Records as a live double album/DVD boxset.
