Töpfern: Handbuilding am Tisch Thema Vasen

Suitable for beginners and anyone with some prior knowledge.

In this course you will create a large, hand-built vase - individual in shape, surface and details. You will learn slab and bead techniques as well as Verena's personal approach to make your vase stable, balanced and full of character.

On the first date, you will build the basic shape: we will work with slab and bead techniques, talk about wall thicknesses, transitions and stability and test different surface structures.

On the second date, you will refine the shape and finish. You will learn how to attach handles and rings neatly, how lids and rims work and how to set specific accents with lettering or patterns.

On the third date (glaze/design), you will design with engobes before the bisque firing: brush or spray technique, patterns, layering - there are no limits to your creativity. After firing, we will glaze the inside and outside of your vase transparently for you.

8 hours on 3 dates
(2×3 hours pottery + 2 hours engobe/glaze).
The course costs 280 € per person.

Appointment 3 (glazing): Fri, 05.12. 17:00-19:00

The course takes place at Wielandstraße 52.

You can collect your finished vase from us approx. 4-5 weeks later or have it sent to you (plus shipping costs).
