Trans Sylvania

Enzo is sitting in the waiting room of a doctor's surgery waiting for his first hormone treatment. Enzo is trans. The play tells the story of Enzo's journey to the gender in which he feels right, a journey to his own self. But how do you become yourself? It is also about the reactions of those around him, his friends. Suddenly his mother Sylvia appears... The audience is addressed directly as a co-waiter and experiences Enzo's development and transformation, his feelings, longings and doubts at first hand.

The development of the play as part of the project "Die Annen rauf", theaterspiel Witten 2022 arose from conversations, interviews, collegial advice, test readings and research with trans* people, relatives, young people and advice centers. Funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.

PARANORMA aims to counteract this by providing the stage at Ballhaus Prinzenallee free of charge every Wednesday for artists and collectives, so that productions that absolutely need to be seen can be showcased.
