At the Travel Slam, three adventurers compete for the audience's favor. Interesting experiences and the ability to present experiences in an entertaining way are required.
The personal experiences are conveyed in a photo-rich 15-minute presentation. One evening lasts approximately one and a half hours. The winners, chosen by the audience, receive the "Golden Travel Sceptre" and an attractive non-cash prize. The first-place winner also gets to talk about their trip for a further five minutes.
A presenter guides the audience through the evening and also asks questions (together with the audience).
However, the focus is not on winning - but on a community of like-minded people. The show is therefore also a kind of 'travel lounge' for those infected by the travel bug. The participants listen to each other, get to know each other, and of course this also applies to the exchange with the audience.

The lectures:
It's probably his mother's genes: at 16, he persuaded his parents to take him on an adventurous tour of the Balkans, and at 23, he spent nine months traveling through Africa and Asia in a VW T1. Uwe Griesbach also spent most of his working life on construction sites abroad. He stopped working in 2007 and has since lived in a Toyota Landcruiser with his wife Bettina for over 7 years. What has remained is his enthusiasm for exploring the world in his own car. If it weren't for the often troublesome permits for importing vehicles. China is difficult and Tibet is even more so. He has tried several times since 2008 to obtain a permit. He was only successful in 2015. He travels via Poland, Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan to Mongolia and on to China. The reward is two weeks of glorious sunshine in Tibet before continuing on to Southeast Asia.
From the untouched tribes of Ethiopia to the ghettos of South Africa, documentary filmmaker Agnes Mazur immerses herself in the contrasts of a continent in transition. Her year-long journey shows not only the majestic beauty of African landscapes, but also life on the margins of society and how much we can learn from these people. She meets creative survivalists, ghetto bosses and tribal women who allow themselves to be bloodily whipped. She lives and travels like the locals, takes many things with humor and reveals facets of Africa that challenge our Western views.
Stephan Meurisch spent four years traveling on foot from Munich to Tibet, through 13 countries with very different cultures. He didn't want to wait until the time was right for this journey. It had to be now. So he quit his job and set off on the 13,000 km journey - with no money in his pocket. He had prepared himself for many problems. But the financial aspect was not to be the biggest challenge...
