In the organizer's words:

Die Ermittlung is a play by playwright Peter Weiss from 1965, which deals with the first Frankfurt Auschwitz trial using the means of documentary theater.

Since the 1990s, Die Ermittlung has had a special significance in the German culture of remembrance.
The silence about Auschwitz that had been accumulated for two decades was suddenly broken.

The play is subtitled "Oratorio in 11 Songs".

The eleven "songs" of the investigation summarize the course of the trial.

They present the statements of defendants and witnesses, defense attorneys, prosecutors and judges.

Only the word counts, through which the life and death in the concentration camp is conveyed to the audience - unadorned material for the audience's judgment; the events are told objectively, soberly and largely without emotion.

This theater project works with professionals and experienced amateurs.
