Trio Alea - "The silence sounds again"
An evening of German and French song
Trio Alea - consisting of Ayşe Yakut Somer (soprano), Olivia Peschke (mezzo-soprano) and Ivan Moisieiev (piano) - presents a versatile program that focuses on the expressive facets of German and French song.
In the first part, the sound worlds of Richard Strauss, Johannes Brahms and Max Reger come together: music full of inwardness, passion and emotional depth. Between quiet reflection and powerful emphasis, songs unfold that show the richness of late Romantic expression in all its nuances.
The second part takes us to France, where the impressionistic tonal language of Maurice Ravel, Reynaldo Hahn, Claude Debussy, Charles-Marie Widor and Pauline Viardot-García resounds in dazzling colors - sensual, finely nuanced and characterized by lyrical elegance.
The result is an evening between drama and tenderness, between German passion and French esprit - a dialog of voices and sounds that makes the silence resound.
