Seventeen-year-old Maria's life is in tatters: she unintentionally causes the death of her father, her boyfriend dumps her pregnant and her frustrated mother chases her out of the house. On the street, Maria stumbles into the equally hopeless Matthew, an educated high school graduate with a great talent for repairing electronic devices.
