Tülvistas: Zuckerwatte in Echt

In the organizer's words:

What is sex? What does love feel like when I grow up? And who am I actually?
Two performers, Franca Rosa von Sobbe and Julika Schlegel, tell and dance stories of becoming oneself and reveal puberty as a queer time of life. Between uncertainty and curiosity, between delicate tones and colors, a poetic, physical exploration of identity, love and courage emerges. A dance theater piece about sexual education, curiosity and what is real.

Tülvistas makes German-language dance theater about sexual education for young people. At the intersection of political education and aesthetics, they produce feminist edutainment. The Tülvistas are feminist performance artists, accomplices and mediators. As door openers, they have set themselves the goal of encouraging young people to embark on a curious search for their own voice, their own gender/sex and their own desire.

Julika Schlegel and Franca-Rosa von Sobbe initiated Tülvistas in 2021, performing in the different realities of young people's lives: in school auditoriums, theaters, queer youth events, district cultural centers, black boxes and open air. In addition to the performances, they offer workshops on sexual education and empowerment. In 2023, their first performance piece Tülva for audiences 14+ won the Kaleidoskop Kinder- und Jugendtheatertage Hessen prize, awarded by the youth jury. In 2024, Tülva toured throughout Germany. In 2025/26, they expanded their thematic field of self-determined, gender-diverse education for even younger people.
