WIN NOIR - "2 Punks and a Tape Machine"

TWIN NOIR is a post-punk/wave/EBM artist duo founded in Berlin in 2021, consisting of Cody Barcelona (vocals, electronics, guitar) and Ian Volt (vocals, bass). TWIN NOIR's music oscillates between electronic monotonous sounds, wide spheres and melodic moments, combined with minimalistic lyrics in German.

TWIN NOIR's sound is characterized by an analog tape machine, a sampler, guitars and a theremin, with which the duo creates its own style of punk and wave music.

Technoid beats, driving basslines and spheres, sometimes played by a synthesizer, sometimes by a guitar, create moments that invite you to dance, float and drift. The influences of the two artists range from bands such as KRAFTWERK and DAF to the EBM and techno scene to punk and rock from the 70s to the 90s.

TWIN NOIR impress live with their energetic performances and danceable sound. The show is inspired by Berlin club culture, punk and vaudeville and aims to celebrate and manifest freedom, creativity and art. The two musicians began performing in Berlin in 2022 and have since played in 17 countries. TWIN NOIR toured throughout Europe, the UK, the Balkans and Mexico, where they recorded half of their debut album in Mexico City. Back in Europe, they finished the recordings in the "Portugal Recording Studio" near Lisbon, where they also recorded their debut follow-up "2 Punks and a Tape Machine - Chapter //" in summer 2024.

TWIN NOIR has already achieved significant milestones, including having two of their songs performed by Iggy Pop on his BBC Radio 6 show "Iggy Confidential". They have been listed as one of the "50 most promising European artists" by the European music initiative "Europelive" and have played live in over 17 countries. They have played at two of Europe's biggest wave/punk festivals: the "Wave Gothic Treffen" in Leipzig and the "Extramuralhas Festival" in Leiria, Portugal and have toured as support for DAF - Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft and She Past Away.

Kurschatten

Kurschatten have built themselves a cozy, cool nest between post-punk, wave and raw dark pop: a lonely bass synthesizer kisses a desperate chorus guitar, driven by restless percussion. One person sings along, sometimes two. The current EP "Tropische Jahre" once again moves between rugged straightforwardness and morbid vibrations.
