Über Höhenflüge und Abstürze: Gespräch mit Sportler Sven Hannawald und Musiker Albert Schmitt | Mental Health Arts Festival

In the organizer's words:

Performance shapes our society and is often seen as a measure of success, recognition and self-worth. What kind of pressure is placed on people who demand top performance on a daily basis, both alone and as part of a team? Athlete Sven Hannawald and musician Albert Schmitt talk about this, moderated by Judith Brenneis.

The two interlocutors from the worlds of sport and culture will provide insights into personal experiences, mental challenges and the pursuit of excellence.

The event will take place at the Projektor. All information & free tickets here.

In 2002,Sven Hannawald was the first ski jumper to win all 4 competitions of the Four Hills Tournament (Grand Slam). He was four-time world champion, Olympic team champion and Germany's sportsman of the year. But the exceptional talent could not withstand the pressure of his own success. He ended his career in 2005 after suffering from burnout.

Together with Sven Ehricht, Sven Hannawald now runs a management consultancy for occupational health. In keynotes and seminars, the corporate health ambassador gives impulses for stress and burnout prevention in both professional and private life. Sven Hannawald is an ambassador for the German government's mental health campaign and AOK Bayern.

Albert Schmitt is a manager, musician, speaker and author. His musical talent was discovered at an early age and he was a national prizewinner in the "Jugend musiziert" competition and a scholarship holder of the European Community. As co-author of the book "High Performance Needs Dissonance", the recipient of the Federal Cross of Merit is a sought-after speaker and advises renowned orchestras in Germany and abroad as well as institutions from business, politics, education and healthcare, the church and science.
