Since 2010, the ÜBERJAZZ FESTIVAL has been showing how jazz, soul, hip-hop, ambient and other advanced styles can be used to create forward-looking music - simultaneously in four Kampnagel halls that can be visited with one ticket. For its 15th anniversary and the last edition before the halls are renovated, the festival will once again bring big names and new discoveries to Hamburg:
From neo-soul icon Bilal to legendary alto saxophonist Gary Bartz and sound archaeologist Adrian Younge to the cosmic sound journeys of Alabaster DePlume. Chicago visionary Angel Bat Dawid presents a project with London keyboardist Naima Nefertari, while R&B singer keiyaA returns with new music after five years. Spiritual jazz and Afrocentric traditions are embodied by Kahil El'Zabar with his Ethnic Heritage Ensemble, and the young scene ranges from Salin and Flur to Berlin transfemme artist Lucy Liebe and future jazz project corto.alto. Spoken word also meets sound: Saul Williams and Carlos Niño & Friends present their joint album. All of this and more will make ÜBERJAZZ 2025 once again a parcours of musical future worlds - before the festival continues in a new form in 2026.
A cooperation between Kampnagel and Karsten Jahnke.
Supported by the Hamburg Ministry of Culture and Media.
