UFOlino – Mitmachkino

In the organizer's words:

At the UFOlino hands-on movie, the smartphones stay off and the tablets stay at home, because: It's off to the movies!

The moving image is at home in the cinema and can be wonderfully explored there. At the UFOlino hands-on cinema, in cooperation with the Osnabrück Film Festival, we get to the bottom of over 100 years of cinema history: while the film projector rattles, sometimes films run across the walls without sound, but with bright colors, sometimes pompous music sounds over the loudspeakers.

We watch films that look like a work of art and are constantly finding new ways to get creative ourselves. For example, we paint on transparent film strips, make flipbooks, dance in front of colored lights, lay out pictures and turn them into a film, make thaumatropes and project shadows onto a screen. Each session offers new films and new creative activities, and short movement units are not neglected.

The cinema can do much more than just tell stories: It is also a space. There is a film projector with bright light, a huge screen, comfortable rows of seats and sometimes the smell of popcorn. We make the room our own and immerse ourselves in the world of movies with all our senses. Children and their companions are invited to join us, because the best way to get to know movies is to watch them together and perhaps fall in love with the cinema (again).
