The Jinotega/Nicaragua Friendship Association is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and is therefore planning various events. The film "Under Fire" will be shown in cooperation with the Cobra Cultural Center.
"Under Fire" is a war film from 1983 by Roger Spottiswoode with Nick Nolte, Gene Hackman and Ed Harris, which deals with the revolution in Nicaragua. The plot is very closely based on the 1979 revolution in which the Sandinista liberation movement overthrew the dictator Somoza.
After the film, there will be an opportunity to talk to members of the association about the current situation in Nicaragua.
