UNERHÖRT! Music Film Festival Hamburg 2025
October 29 - November 2, 2025

UNERHÖRT! enters its 19th round - with five days of music on the big screen. The festival shows films that not only depict music, but make it tangible: Documentaries, portraits and experiments about musicians, scenes and sounds from all over the world.

In 2025, UNERHÖRT! is all about cooperation - as an artistic principle and as an attitude. Together with Le FIFA Montréal, the Québec Antenne Berlin, the Ministry of Culture and the Senate Chancellery Hamburg, the festival presents a focus on Québec with music films between sound research, identity and collective spirit.

UNERHÖRT! will open in the Metropolis cinema with the new documentary STRANGE JOURNEY - THE STORY OF ROCKY HORROR, a journey into the genesis of the cult musical "The Rocky Horror Picture Show".

Another focus is on the Dutch filmmaker Frank Scheffer, who is represented with his new film HALF MOON about the Syrian clarinettist Kinan Azmeh as well as a short film program about four decades of contemporary music.

There will also be films on funk, house, ska, free jazz, punk and classical music, audience discussions, pre-readings and a closing night with a live performance.
